Eagle Group, a leader in innovative and sustainable waterproofing solutions, has successfully completed a project in a single-family home, solving a chronic problem of negative pressure moisture on the ground floor.
Project Context
The single-family home, isolated and with a semi-buried ground floor on a sloped terrain surrounded by a garden and pool, had a significant moisture problem. The moisture, coming from both the soil and the adjacent garden, had penetrated into the interior of the house, deteriorating the wooden flooring in the living room and the ceramic flooring in the kitchen. Given this situation, an effective solution was required to block the moisture before installing a new flooring system.
Technical Solution
To ensure a lasting and effective solution, Eagle Group’s ULTRADRY technology was chosen. This two-component epoxy resin, applied in a single layer, has been developed to absorb up to 98% of moisture on porous substrates such as concrete, mortars, or ceramics, and acts as an effective moisture barrier against negative pressure up to 10 bar, while also forming a highly durable vapor barrier (Sd = 61).

Project Application Procedure
The process to solve the negative pressure moisture problem in this home was quick and effective, with simple steps ensuring optimal results:
- • Removal of damaged flooring: Moisture-damaged materials (wooden parquet in the living room and ceramic flooring in the kitchen) were removed.
- • Substrate cleaning: Dust and dirt were vacuumed to ensure a clean and suitable base for application.
- • Sealing of perimeters: Ultraflex Sealant (MS Polymer) was used for excellent adhesion on wet surfaces, sealing the perimeter joints between the flooring and enclosures, thus optimizing waterproofing. Technical datasheet: https://www.eagle-waterproofing.com/en/deownloads/
- • Application of ULTRADRY: The epoxy resin was applied with a roller in a thick layer (approximately 450 g/m²) over the entire surface to dry the substrate, absorb residual moisture, and serve as an effective moisture barrier against negative pressure.
- • Spread of aggregate: Once the resin began to form a skin, an aggregate of sufficient granulometry was applied to create a rough surface that would facilitate the anchoring of the new flooring.
- • Installation of new flooring: A ceramic floor was installed over the entire surface using a flexible tile adhesive, directly over the ULTRADRY resin.

Results Supporting Its Effectiveness
The application of ULTRADRY in this project has definitively solved a chronic moisture problem, ensuring the structural and aesthetic integrity of the new ceramic flooring.
ULTRADRY is positioned as the ideal solution for projects where moisture under negative pressure is high, such as in buildings with semi-buried ground floors or those located on sloped terrain, basements, parking lots, and elevator pits. Its composition provides a durable and effective barrier against rising moisture, improving both the durability and performance of the installed flooring. ULTRADRY can even accelerate the curing of “green concrete,” shortening construction times.
Gemma Mogas, Partner and General Manager of Eagle Waterproofing Ibérica, the European subsidiary of Eagle Group, states: “Our ULTRADRY technology is designed to provide a definitive solution in complex moisture situations. This case study is an excellent example of how Eagle Waterproofing’s experience and products provide peace of mind and security to our customers across Europe, even in the most challenging construction environments.”
With this success, Eagle Group reaffirms its commitment to innovative and sustainable solutions that transform construction challenges into opportunities for excellence, consolidating its position as a leader in advanced waterproofing.
